W Tourney Deadlock: Group Stage Recap and Playoff Race

The W Tourney Deadlock group stage kicked off on August 25. Eight teams are competing for a $10,000 prize pool, with the group stage concluding on August 28 and the playoffs scheduled for August 29-30.

Over the first three days, nine series were played, while August 28 marked the start of the final day of the group stage.

August 25

The tournament opened with Abrahams vs Lock Team. Abrahams took control of the series and secured a 2:0 victory.

The second matchup featured Fearless Furies vs Trashcan. Fearless Furies won the opening map, but Trashcan bounced back, tied the series and then claimed the deciding map to win 2:1.

The final match of the day saw Buff Enjoyers take on Echo Team. Buff Enjoyers closed out the series without dropping a map, winning 2:0.

First day results:

August 26

The second day began with Fearless Furies vs Lock Team. Fearless Furies swept the series 2:0.

Next up were Leviathan and Slice'n Dice. It was Leviathan's first series of the tournament, and they opened their run with a convincing 2:0 victory.

The final series of the day featured Abrahams vs Trashcan. Trashcan took the first map, but Abrahams came back to win the next two and close the series 2:1.

Second day results:

August 27

The third day opened with Echo Team vs Leviathan. Echo Team managed to punish several mistakes, but Leviathan maintained control and completed another 2:0 sweep.

The next series saw Buff Enjoyers face Slice'n Dice. Buff Enjoyers continued their strong start and won 2:0.

The final match of the day was Trashcan vs Lock Team. Trashcan won the first map in just 16 minutes, setting the fastest map time of the tournament at that point. They followed it up with another victory to complete the 2:0 series.

Third day results:

Heading into the final day of the group stage, Buff Enjoyers and Leviathan remained undefeated on maps, with both teams holding a 4:0 record across their first two series.

August 28

The final day of the group stage began with Slice'n Dice vs Echo Team.

Echo Team won the opening map and took a 1:0 lead in the series.

At the time of publication, the match is still ongoing.

The final group stage results and playoff participants will be decided on August 28.

The W Tourney playoffs will take place on August 29 and 30, when the first season champion will be determined and the $10,000 prize pool will be decided.
